FIRST ASSEMBLY'S WEDDING POLICIES

First Assembly holds to a Scriptural standard regarding marriage and the performing of church weddings.  The following requirements must be met before weddings may be scheduled and performed:

1)  Both bride and groom must be born-again Christians who can recount their salvation experience and are living genuine Christian lives.  They must have a record of faithful church attendance and must be attending First Assembly unless residing outside of the Jefferson City area.

2)  If the bride and groom are living together in the same residence, they must separate immediately, live in separate residences, and abstain from sexual relations until the wedding has taken place.

3)  Persons who have been divorced must have been divorced for Scriptural reasons before remarrying.

4)  All couples must agree to participate in First Assembly's premarital counseling program prior to the wedding.

5)  All couples desiring to schedule a wedding at First Assembly or use of the First Assembly's ministers must meet with the pastor in order to place the wedding on the church master calendar.
