Harris

Rev. R. D. Harris (left) was elected as pastor in July of 1958 and served until February of 1961.

Rev. Norman F. Brewer (right) was elected as pastor in March of 1961 and served until October of 1970. Under his leadership, the educational annex at 900 Jefferson Street was built.

In October of 1970, Rev. Larry C. Dickson was elected pastor. He served until September of 1976. During Pastor Dickson’s tenure, the front of the Jefferson Street building was redesigned with a Colonial portico, and the offices were remodeled.

Sewell
Rev. John H. Sewell was elected as pastor on October 18, 1976, and served the congregation until July of 1983. Under Pastor Sewell’s leadership, the sanctuary was remodeled again.

Rev. John Gifford was elected as pastor in the summer of 1983, and served the congregation until the summer of 1985.

Rev. Michael Hamilton was elected as pastor in the summer of 1985, and served as pastor until the fall of 1987. Under Pastor Hamilton’s leadership, the congregation sold its property at 900 Jefferson Street and purchased the property at 1900 Route C. A multi-purpose building was erected to serve both as sanctuary and activities center and included classrooms and offices. The building on C Highway was completed in March of 1986, and the Jefferson Street building was sold to the Salvation Army which occupies that property until this day.

Rev. Maury Stout was elected as pastor in January of 1988 and served until May of 1993. Under Pastor Stout’s leadership, a second activities building was completed and the main multi-purpose building was converted into a formal sanctuary as it stands today. The activities building was completed in the summer of 1992 and the remodeling of the current sanctuary was completed in March of 1993.

First Assembly

Rev. Lowell Perkins was elected as pastor in July of 1993 and serves to the present.
